Magic the Gathering like online games

Magic the Gathering is a popular card game that has been around for ages and over time has evolved to include many new gameplay twists and themse. In addition the card game has inspired many online flash games. Some are good, some are great and some are just plain bad. Each has their own take on the popular theme and many merge the gameplay with rpg elements increasing the game depth. Here are a few of the best examples:

Spectromancer- probably the best of the bunch. In this card game you play over a campaign map and go from fight to fight evolving the overall story. You aren't able to make your own deck or choose what card you want every battle. These are chosen for you. However you can pick your them, such as being a beastmaster, arcane wizard or a demonlord.

Mytheria- An older science fiction based flash game and is quite entertaining. It is a sci-fi card game where you must pick your faction and fight through a linear story in the future. It uses similar gameplay to magic the gathering as you "tap" casted card to place them on offense or you can hold them back and defend using them.

The Necronomicon Kind of an occult theme to this game. It has really nice artwork but is a bit difficult to get into at first.

Cardian Combines realtime strategy with magic the gathering themes. You cast cards to summon creature or cast spells and your units and the enemy's meet in the middle to do battle. As you begin to win, you gain momentum and the battle gets closer to the enemies portal. You win when you overwelm the enemies units and destroy the opposing player's portal.

Castle wars 2 - Set in a medieval setting, you square off against an opposing castle. The point of the game is to destroy the enemies castle before they do the same to you. Defense usually consists of strengthening your walls and office can be anything from summoning dragons to firing cannon balls.
